Little Updates

Iqaluit at sunrise- 10:00am
Sunny days in Iqaluit are nearing the end. At 2:45, it is dusk here. Late sunrise and early sunset mean very long sunrises and sunsets. When the sun never reaches the top of the sky, sunrise colours last halfway to sunset. It is warm here now- we are supposed to have temperatures near 0°, maybe even above. That's blizzard weather.

Last night I went to a play hosted by the Franco-Centre. It was without words, so I didn't need to know French to understand. The play could only be described as 'just how Shakespeare would have wanted'. When the time came for the final battle, the actors took off their shirts, put on swim goggles, and lined up cups of red juice along the table. Then they threw red juice everywhere while dramatic music played. At the times in the play when Macbeth killed children (and they got on board with the 'Macbeth's child died' theory), they smashed eggs. It was altogether a very messy play. Banquo was a styrofoam plate with holes cut for eyes.

My email signature. Looks very professional and even has my name in Inuktitut!
